  3.            AUTOMATIC  DIF FILE(input) INTERFACE

  6.      INPUT into BEST-PLAN: BEST-PLAN also supports data input for 
  7.      scenario analysis using pre-created DIF from another program 
  8.      or system.  Resource/variables name identifications,  prices 
  9.      and  limits  may be entered into BEST-PLAN from a DIF  file. 
  10.      The DIF file will have the VISICALC column orientation (i.e. 
  11.      /S#S name C) and the following specification:

  13.           DIF filename= PnnnnDss.DIF
  14.                         nnnn = PLAN,  ss = scenario
  15.  
  16.      TUPLES      = the number of resources, or variables with new 
  17.                    information.

  19.     The  DIF file may specify datanames using the first TUPLE  in 
  20.     the  data section.   The first TUPLE may contain string  data 
  21.     equivalent  to  the  labels as shown.  This  will  allow  the 
  22.     datanames to come from the spreadsheet as header information.

  26.      VECTORS     = the number of data fields to be entered.  This 
  27.                    input facility can only supports the following 
  28.                    data changes: 
  29.                    Name.identifications = assign name.id to
  30.                           resources and variables(30-characters). 
  31.                    Prices  and  Costs   = assign new prices 
  32.                           and  costs  to resources and variables. 
  33.                    Limits:  low,  high  and  fixed 
  34.                           = assign new limits to resources and
  35.                             variables.

  37.      LABELS      = the  datanames of the specified  VECTORS,  e.g 
  38.                    prices, lower limits, etc..  
  39.                    LABELS that are valid are:
  40.                          "RESOURCES","VARIABLES"
  41.                          "DESCRIPTION"
  42.                          "PRICE" "COST"
  43.                          "L.L.", "LOW", "MINIMUM"
  44.                          "U.L.", "UPPER", "MAXIMUM"
